The Blueprints of Rescue 15

The new "Rescue 15" is a "2000 SWAB Champion-10 Rescue Unit. It is being built by SWAB Wagon Company from Elizabethville, PA.

The Chassis is a 2001 Ford F-550 4X4 Crew Cab. It will be a 7.31 Turbo Diesel Engine with a four speed automatic transmission with a GVW of 17,500 pounds.

The all aluminum body will be 126" long, 71" high and 96" wide. A Ramsey model RE 10,000 pound, 12 volt electric winch with brush guard will be mounted to the front of the chassis. The cab will have a Cab Radio/Switch Center Console for sirens, rdios, gauges, switches, and storage compartments for books, manuals or a laptop computer.

Lighting will include portable box lights, Telescopic Pole Lights and portable Tripod Lights. They will be powered by a Westerbeke 7.6 kw diesel generator which will be installed in the bottom of compartment R-1. The unit will have a Vanner Model 30-10 battery charger/conditioner with an "auto-eject shoreline. Also installed will be Code 3 Light Bar Model MX7000, a Code III AS-839 39" Arrow Stik traffic advisor, an electric cable reel with 150 feet of 10/3 cable., stokes basket, Little Giant Ladder, folding rear steps, etc. Lettering will be done by Danz.
