August 11, 2005: Structure fire in Old Lycoming Township

Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a possible structure fire on Daugherty's Run Road a little after 2:30 pm today. The exact location was unknown when Old Lycoming, Williamsport and Woodward Fire Departments responded. Asst. Chief Mark Lusk was first on the scene and reported the second floor was involved. Old Lycoming Twp. Chief Dave Shirn quickly requested a second alarm which brought Hepburn Township's Tanker and Engine. The second alarm also brought many other departments including, but not limited to, Stations 7, 8, 9, 18, 20, 31 and 45.

Water supply depended on Tankers which appeared to be adequate for the fire. It was not exactly a cool day! It was hot...humid...and in the mid to upper 80's. The additional manpower aided at this incident.

A few pictures are below.

Tanker 7 dumps in to a portable tank. Further down the road Tanker 15 waits to dump it's load.
Much later in the incident Tankers supply Engine 14 which in turn pumps to Tower 1.
