In the late night hours of June 24, 2008 a vehicle was traveling northbound on US Route 6015 in the area of Fry's Turkey Ranch Restaurant on Steam Valley Mountain. The area is a construction zone for the new Interstate 99. The vehicle somehow veered off the roadway and went airborn and landed in a construction water collection area. Two occupants were fatally injured.
