Stroehmann's Bakery • January 22, 2001

In the late afternoon hours of Monday January 22, the Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported compressor motor fire at the Stroehmann Roll Plant, 3375 Lycoming Creek Road. This call was a mutual aid run into Old Lycoming Township. Below are a few shots taken at the incident. In the upper left and lower right photos, Station 15 personnel can be observed supplying support roles and are seen at the rear of Engine 14 awaiting assignment. Tanker 15 tagged the hydrant located at the front of the structure.

An Old Lycoming Chief, R. Mark Lusk, is seen in the center tending the incident command board. Fortunately the situation did not worsen but firefighters were ready. Ladder 11 can be seen laddering the roof. Tanker 8 was assigned to side D and Engine 14-1 personnel were in the interior. Units remained in a condition of readiness until a PP&L crew arrived to deactivate the electricity in the area of the transformer.
