In the late afternoon hours of Monday February 5, the Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported chimney fire at the Strouse Residence, 670 Dylan Drive. It was a real trip!

Fortunately, no damage was done to the home on Dylan Drive. The chimney was constructed in a fully encapsulated masonry structure with plenty of insulating space from the flue to the wooden petitions. They did an excellent job of constructing the fireplace,

BUT..., THE ROADS WERE SLIPPERY! Although not much snow had fallen the night before, in this remote location the entrance roads were snowy and treacherous. The Tanker responded. Wisely, the officer on board and the engineer rejected the thought of driving on the windy, snowy, hilltop road. As it was they did experience serious sliding. Fortunately the Hepburn Township road crew responded to this scene to provide cinders. Thanks Guys!
