Smokey Corners Road • February 11, 2001

Sunday February 11, the Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a reported vehicle accident on Smokey Corners Road with unknown injuries. The vehicle was supposedly 300 yards south of State Highway Route 973 East into a pole and in a stream. As units approached from Route 973 East they were treated with the view on the top right portion below. The vehicle was very hard to find. But, approaching the scene from the south on Smokey Corners road gives you the view on the top left. Fortunately no one was injured in the incident. The occupants had walked about a mile to a friend's house to call their parents for assistance. The accident occurred about 45 minutes before the fire department was dispatched. The scene appears to have all the ingredients of a serious accident. Someone must have been looking out for the two teenage occupants.
