6015 Northbound • Vehicle Accident With Confinement • April 26, 2001

At 5:28 pm Station 15, Station 16 and Medic 91 was dispatched to a vehicle accident with rollover and possible entrapment on Route 15 Nortbound approximately .25 miles north of Beauty's Run Road. Chief 2-15 and Chief 16 were the first two responders to arrive on the scene. The northbound vehicle was positioned in the median facing southbound. An elderly couple from New York State were confined in the vehicle. The passenger door was able to be opened giving access to the patients.

Engine 15 was the first fire apparatus on the scene. Among other duties, they were assigned to provide medical assistance, vehicle stabilization, and removal of the driver's door with the Holmatro Combie Tool. Door removal and freeing of the victims was completed within 17 minutes from dispatch. Engine 16 crew arrived on the scene and assisted. The patients were transported to SHS by ambulances from Stations 14 and 16. Both patients arrived at the hospital within 42 minutes.
