Another Weekend • April 27 thru April 30, 2001

There has been a rash of incidents lately. We had four alarms over the four days. This does not include the medical emergencies. Below are a few pictures of each.

A Vehicle Accident on Factory Road • April 27, 2001

This location on Factory Road, just off Route 973 East, is the scene of numerous vehicle accidents over the years. Fortunately, the injuries were minor.

In the photo below there appears to be a meeting of the minds at the rear of Engine 15.

A Field and Car Fire on Koch-Hill Road • April 28, 2001

Look close at this field and you will observe the blackened remains of the underbrush which burned on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Apparently, the car in the lower photos was being driven on this field when it caught fire. The operator then attempted to drive the car from the field to the top of the hill in the distance.

He didn't quite make it to the top of the hill. He ended up on the private driveway approximately one quarter of the way up the hill. Reportedly the car stopped running at this location. You are right! This is where it was consumed by flames.

A Brush Fire on Whippoorwill Lane • April 29, 2001

The owner of this property on Whippoorwill Lane was burning debris when this fire got out of control.

In the upper photo Chief Jeffrey Tempesco is dousing the fire with a handline.

In the photo to the right, the crew is still trying to extinguish the flames. A representative from the Bureau of Forestry talks with Firefighter Jude Richardson at the rear of Brush 15.

A Shed Fire on Academy Road • April 30, 2001

The above photo shows what can happen when you try to burn the insulation off wires when the wires are located too close to a structure. Fortunately, the damage was minimal.

Do you recognize the individual in the middle of the photo to the right? Some of you will.
